Hi I'm Mercer.  I live in Virginia with Shea and I just turned five!  I am a companion dog and I am also qualified as a therapy dog.  I know 60 commands and think the coolest ones are turning on lights, and opening doors.  My very favorite is "lap", when I jump up on Shea's wheelchair and put my two front paws on her shoulders.  Now, a message from the author of my stories, Shea.

Hi, I'm Shea.  I am 12 years old and have so much going on in my life it is almost to hard to write it all.  I have a sister Kelley who is 18.  She loves Lacrosse and Field Hockey.  Kelley is beautiful.  I also have a brother Matt, who is a riot.  Mom says he is a handful but all the girls love him!  He is a great skateboarder and lacrosse player.  My Dad just ROCKS!

My mom found a diary with stories that I wrote about Mercer.  CAN YOU BELIEVE SHE READ MY DIARY!  Oh yeah, I also have two other dogs Curley and Molly.

Shea Megale, Mercer, and Shea's mom, fresh from their Today Show appearance, will be selling and signing copies of "Marvelous Mercer", the story of Mercer's nightly adventures.  Proceeds from the sale of the book/stuffed animals sets go to:

• Help fund new research for SMA

• Canine Companions for Independence, to help fund companion animals for veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan, and others who are waiting for companion animals like Mercer.

The folks from The Kenyan Collection, selected clothier of Mercer, will also be in attendance for those who may want to purchase a gift for their favorite companion.  20% of the proceeds from sales of the collars goes to SMA and Canine Companions for Independence.
